A Jaipur Court has ordered the local police to file cases against Bollywood film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actor Ranveer Singh and actress Deepika Padukone and others for reportedly hurting the ‘religious sentiments’ of people through their upcoming film Ram Leela which is scheduled to hit the screens countrywide and elsewhere on 15th November.
Ram Leela happens to be one of the most-awaited films of the year as the lead pair of Ranveer and Deepika have reportedly fallen for each other. Besides, Bhansali’s films are always looked up with great interest. Advocate Pawan Sharma filed a complaint with the additional chief metropolitan magistrate in Jaipur saying that the ‘promos’ of the film which are aired in television appear to have ‘sequences which might promote enmity between groups on religious grounds’.
Taking up Sharma’s petition, the Court issued orders to Shyam Nagar police in Jaipur to register an FIR and file cases against Bhansali, the director and Ranveer and Deepika, the lead pair and a few others associated with the film. The Court has also directed the police to investigate the complaint ‘thoroughly’.
Deepika, who is surely going through the best phase in her career, was hoping to make it a hat-trick of hits as her last couple of films in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express had turned out to be super-duper hits. She is also the heroine of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming 3-D animation venture Kochadaiiyaan.
