Deepavali, the festival of lights and cracker, is also an important day for the entertainment industry as film-makers vie with each other to release their films on this day as it would guarantee ‘housefull’ shows in theatres for the films at least for the first few days.
With hardly five weeks to go for Deepavali, the line of films to release on the D-Day has almost been completed, one thought. However, Vishal had other ideas and has just announced that he would be joining the Deepavali race with his upcoming Pandiya Naadu which is directed by Suseenthiran and which also has veteran Bharathiraja essaying, Vishal’s father role.
Already, Ajith’s Arrambam, Arya-Anushka’s Irandaam Ulagam and the Karthi-Kajal Aggarwal starrerAll in All Azhagu Raja have been lined up to release on Deepavali. These three films require a minimum of 400 halls to release all over the State and with Vishal’s film joining the fray, it might make things worst for the above-said three films.
Pandiya Naadu is Vishal’s first ‘official’ home production and has been produced under his own banner Vishal Film Factory. And Vendhar Movie will release the film in the state. D. Imman has scored the music of the film which pairs the talented Lakshmi Menon opposite Vishal for the first time. Vishal’s Madha Gaja Raja is still stuck up with financial problems and the actor appears to concentrate more to release Pandiya Naadu on Deepavali.
