We hear that Vijay Sethupathi and Arya will play interesting roles in Purambokku, which is to be directed by Jananathan. The director says, "Vijay Sethupathi will essay the role of a railway khalasi — a local guy who does all the helping work within the railway department. He does a new job every other day. I have narrated this role to him (Vijay) and he is currently studying the nature of the role. Arya will play the role of a social activist, who has strong principles. These two guys will meet at a crucial point in the film, which forms the main plot of the storyline."The makers are planning to shoot the film in some of the locales in Jaisalmer and Bikaner. Jananathan says, "The first schedule of the film will commence from January next year in Kulu Manali. We will then head to Jaisalmer and Bikaner."
Meanwhile, the makers have retained the title,
Purambokku, after the controversy over the title. He says, "The title issue has been sorted out with Natty Subramaniam, who claimed the same title. Since we have registered it first, we are retaining the title."
