Ajith’s long-awaited Deepavali release
Arrambam finally hit the screens yesterday in theatres all over Chennai
and elsewhere in the State and other States. The film has released in
theatres two days ahead of Deepavali and theatres releasing the film
wore a festive look yesterday with Ajith’s fans decorating the theatres’
premises with huge cut-outs and banners of the actor praising his fame
and wishing him good luck.
At many cities including Chennai and
Madurai, the ‘first show’ of the film commenced as early as at 05:30 in
the morning. Simbu, a self-proclaimed fan of ‘Thala’ Ajith, watched the

films, the script of Arrambam was kept a closely-guarded secret till its
release in theatres.
Arrambam also happens to be the first
film starring Ajith which has been released in large number of screens
abroad. In Chennai alone, the film released in 30 cinema halls including
multiplexes while Ajith’s die-hard fans in Madurai had collected
promptly at the halls screening Arrambam to watch the early-morning show
and other shows. Fans went berserk after watching the
‘first-day-first-show’ in many cities.
Theatres abroad have released the film
on Wednesday (30th October) itself. Ajith’s fans have been flooding the
net and social networking sites with their reviews and opinions after
watching the film. In Mayajaal multiplex in Chennai’s suburbs, as many
as 90 shows of Arrambam are screened everyday. As all the theatres have
reported huge pre-release bookings of upto a week, Arrambam is predicted
to end up as a super-duper hit film much to the delight of Ajith’s
fans. Trade circles predict the film had collected a whoping Rs 18
crores on the first day.
