Teaser of Kochadaiiyaan receives mixed reviews
Much
to the relief of superstar Rajinikanth’s millions of fans, for once,
Soundarya Ashwin, the debutant director of the film at last kept her
word and released the teaser of the film yesterday (09th September). The
minute-long trailer is more than enough to keep Rajini’s fans
interested in the film till it releases (hopefully) on the star’s
birthday on 12th December.
More than three years have elapsed after
the release of Rajini’s latest film Enthiran: The Robot. Rajini started
to work in his daughter Soundarya’s 3-D animation venture, the first of
its kind in the country, in late 2011. Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone has
been paired opposite Rajini in the film which has him playing dual
roles of King and the Prince. Jacike Shroff, Adhi, Sarathkumar, Nasser,
Shobana and Rukmani are part of the film’s cast which has music by A.R.
Rahman.
At the outset, the teaser screams:
‘There are many real heroes and there can be many super-heroes but there
can be only one super-star’ and then Rajini makes a grand entry by
storming through the huge doors of a castle. The Rajini seen in this
teaser is very different and something the fans would never have
visualized or even to the stills released.The teaser ends with a caption
that the audio-launch would be held in October.
Kochadaiiyaan trailer was well received by Rajini fans across the
world, with nearly 9 Lakh hit in 24 hrs, a record of sort for a Tamil
Film. But to many it was big time disappointment, billed as India’s
answer to Hollywood’s celebrated animation films such Avatar and Tintin,
the trailer resembled a
low end graphic cartoon and many fans feel disappointed of being
cheated by the filmmakers for 2 years. Some even compared it to hollywood video games.
No wonder the trailer of the film was not released in May this year at the annual edition of Cannes said one fan.
Did Rajini commit a mistake of starring in his inexperienced
daughter’s directorial? Will Rajini end up she seeing the Baba Days
again? The answer to these question will be known when film releases on
12.12.13
