Ben Affleck has finally spoken about the backlash that the decision to cast him in the role of Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel created.
Affleck says that he has learnt to turn a blind eye to the comments made by fanboys on the Internet. Reflecting on the developments during the period of his signing for the big role, Affleck recollects that he received a call with the offer but was apprehensive as he was not in his twenties anymore.
However, the director of the Man of Steel franchise Zack Snyder convinced him with his vision. Warner Bros made no secret of the backlash that usually accompanies any decision to cast an actor in any of the big roles to Affleck. That prepared him for the storm that was coming.
Affleck was certain that he would emerge unscathed out of all backlashes as he has received a lot of criticism in his past about his choices. He acted against the directive issued by Warner Bros and decided to check out for himself how the fans reacted to his casting decision. That is when he regretted the decision to not pay heed to his producers and chose to stay away from the online world for some time now.
